How to Create a New Profile on PS4

If you’re interested in playing video games on your PS4, you’ll need to create a profile. Creating a profile is easy and only takes a few minutes. In this article, we’ll show you how to create a new profile on PS4.

Go to Settings

On the main screen, scroll up to the Function area and select Settings. Scroll down to User. Select Login Settings. Select Add New User. Select Create a User. Choose an avatar. Enter a username and date of birth, then select Next.

Select Users

On the home screen, select “Users” from the function area.

Next, select “Add User” and then select “Create a User.” If you’re adding a child user, you’ll be prompted to set up parental controls. For more information, see How to Set Parental Controls for a PlayStation 4 System.

Enter your preferred sign-in ID (email address), password, date of birth and security question/answer, then select Next.

Note: The security question/answer is used to verify your identity if you forget your password or sign-in ID. We recommend that you choose a question that only you will know the answer to. Do not use easily guessed answers such as your mother’s maiden name or your pet’s name.

Select “Create New User”

On the home screen, scroll up to the Function area and select Settings > Account Management > Sign In.

Enter your Sign-in ID (email address) and Password, and then select Sign In.

Select New User > Create a User.

Enter your user information, and then select Next > Continue.

Follow the prompts to create a new profile

When you boot up your PS4, you’ll be asked to sign in with your existing PlayStation Network account or create a new one. If you choose to create a new account, you’ll be taken through a series of prompts to do so.

First, you’ll need to enter your date of birth. Then you’ll be asked to create a username and password for your account. Once that’s done, you’ll need to enter your email address so that Sony can send you important information about your account (like password reset instructions, for instance).

After that, you’ll be asked to choose whether or not you want to link your Facebook account with your PlayStation Network account. This is optional, but if you do choose to link the two accounts, it will make it easier for friends on Facebook to find and connect with you on PSN.

Finally, Sony will ask you to accept their terms of service and privacy policy. Once you’ve done that, your new PlayStation Network account will be created and you can start using it right away!
